Walker Barnes
Hello! My name is Walker Barnes and I am a research assistant here with the Stress, Trauma, and Anxiety Research Clinic. I have lived around the Detroit area for most of my life, attending the University of Michigan - Dearborn and receiving my bachelors in the Fall of 2022. I began working with STARC during the Summer of 2022, and am currently working on phobia deconditioning and exercise research. Along with these projects, I also work on a study that examines biomarkers and their relation to acute and chronic pain with the Detroit Trauma Project (DTP) in the Wayne State University School of Medicine. My specific areas of interest include social cognition and group identity, but I am also interested in psychology, sociology, and philosophy more broadly.
In my free time I like to run, crochet, skate, read, and explore the outdoors!
