I was born and raised in Iraq then I moved to the United States. In my undergraduate studies, I got heavily involved with research studies at the University of Michigan and Wayne State University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. Currently, I am pursuing Masters in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Wayne State University. One of my main goals as refugee advocate is to use my experience to aid and support the mental health of refugees through the studies conducted by our clinic. During my free time, I enjoy exploring new coffee shops, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
